Terms
The terms for using this website and, once ordering opens, for buying a Tying The Knot invitation: price, what is included, changes, cancelling and refunds.
Draft: these terms are awaiting review by a solicitor, and anything in square brackets is not decided yet. Ordering is not open, so every part about buying describes how it is planned to work and may change before it opens. The terms in force on the day you order are the ones that apply to your order.
The Tying The Knot website is free to use. Once ordering opens, one price of €750 including VAT buys your whole invitation: the film, the website, the RSVP, the dashboard and the table plan, with a year online. You can cancel within 14 days of ordering, as set out below, and nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer under Irish law.
Who we are
Tying The Knot is the name of our service. The business behind it is:
- Legal name: [legal name]
- Trading as: Tying The Knot
- Address: [registered address]
- Registration number: [CRO number]
- VAT number: [VAT number]
- Telephone: [telephone number]
- Email: hello@tyingtheknot.ie
In these terms, "we" means that business and "you" means the person ordering. To reach us, use that email address or the contact page.
Using this website
You are welcome to read, share and link to this website. Please use it lawfully, do not try to disrupt it, and ask us before you copy our text, design or films for another site or for commercial use.
The films and pictures in the examples were made with AI tools. The examples show our style. Your own film and site are made from your answers.
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. If you give us your email address on the get started page, it reaches us by email and we use it only to tell you when ordering opens. See the privacy notice and the cookie policy.
Buying a Tying The Knot invitation, once ordering opens
Ordering is not open yet. This part describes how buying will work once it opens, and it may change before then. It is written for couples buying for their own wedding.
What does your invitation include?
One price of €750 including VAT covers everything below. There are no tiers and no guest-count bands.
- An AI-assisted opening film. A short silent film, made with AI tools for your venue, colours and style, and checked by a person frame by frame before you see it.
- Your invitation website. Your names, the date, the venue, the day's schedule with times, the dress code, a few words from you, accommodation and answers to guests' questions.
- A guest travel planner. The airports near your venue, the drive from each, and a map of the way in.
- RSVP. Each household replies in one go, person by person: whether they are coming, their meal, and any dietary and allergy needs. Every guest can also request a song for the dance floor.
- A calendar file. One tap adds your day to a guest's phone.
- Your dashboard. A private place where you see every reply the moment it is sent, your guest list by household, who has and has not replied, reminders to chase, the dietary and allergy list with each guest's table, and the song list for your DJ or band.
- Your table plan. Choose table types (round, long, top table or sweetheart), seats per table and the layout of the room, then drag guests' names onto tables, or tap a guest and then a table. Download the plan as a picture (PNG) and as a CSV spreadsheet with each guest's name, table, and dietary and allergy needs, to send to your hotel or venue.
- Two rounds of changes after you see your preview.
- A web address. A Tying The Knot address, or a domain you already own. A domain you own stays yours, and any fees for it go to your domain provider.
- A year online. 12 months of hosting, counted from the day your site goes live.
The pricing page shows the same list. What we say about your invitation on this website, on the pricing page and on the order page forms part of your contract. The order page shows the expected delivery time for your preview before you pay, and that time forms part of your contract too.
The travel planner is a guide. We do not sell or book travel, so guests should check times and entry rules with their airline, ferry operator or official sources.
Add-ons
You can add any of these when you order. Each is optional and priced separately, with VAT included:
- Rush delivery: €250. Your site built to a shorter timeline. The order page shows the timeline before you pay.
- Extra event page: €120. A page for another event, such as a rehearsal dinner or a day-after brunch.
- Second language: €300. Your whole site in a second language.
- Guest photos: €300. On the day, your guests can add their photos of the wedding through your site. The photos gather in your dashboard and stay for as long as your site is online.
- Extra round of changes: €100. One more round after the two that are included.
- Extended hosting: €150 for each further 12 months online after the included year.
Price, VAT and payment
Prices are in euro and include VAT. The order page shows your total, including VAT and any add-ons, before you pay. The price you see when you order is the price you pay. If we change our prices, the change applies to new orders only.
You pay when you order. An add-on you buy later, such as extended hosting, is paid for when you ask for it. We add no charge for the way you pay, and nothing you have not agreed to. The order page shows the payment methods we accept before you start.
Who can order?
At first we take orders only from customers in the Republic of Ireland. This is about where you order from, not where you marry: your wedding and your guests can be anywhere, including a wedding abroad.
How does ordering work?
- You choose any add-ons. Directly before you order, you see the main features of what you are buying, the delivery time, the number of rounds of changes, what AI-assisted means, how long hosting lasts, and the total price including VAT.
- If you want us to start straight away, you ask us to, and you confirm that you understand what that means for your right to cancel (see below).
- You press a button labelled "Order with obligation to pay". Until you do, you have not agreed to pay.
- We email you a confirmation with your order details, your request to start and how to cancel. Keep it as your record.
- After you pay, you create your account, answer our guided questions by typing or by voice note, and upload your photos. We build your film and website, you review a preview, and you ask for your changes. When you are happy, you share one link with every guest.
The how it works page shows the same journey, and the FAQ answers common questions.
Your right to cancel
You can cancel within 14 days. The 14 days start on the day your contract with us is made. You do not have to tell us why. This is your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
How to cancel. Tell us clearly that you want to cancel: from your account, from your confirmation email, or by emailing hello@tyingtheknot.ie. You do not have to use a form. Keep a copy of what you send.
Starting work early. We only start work inside the 14 days if you ask us to. At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want us to start straight away, and that you understand your right to cancel ends once we have fully done the work. We record your request and repeat it in your confirmation email. If you do not ask, we do not start until the 14 days have passed.
If you cancel after we have started. If you cancel after you asked us to start, but before we have fully done the work, you pay for what we have done up to the day you tell us. That is a share of the price in proportion to the work done. We work it out from the list of what the price includes and show you how. If we did not record your request to start, or did not tell you about this cost before you ordered, you pay nothing for the work done in that time.
Refunds. We refund what you have paid, less any share for work done, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the day you tell us, to the payment method you used.
Your photos, voice notes and words. If you cancel, we do not use the ones you gave us, and if you ask we give them back to you free of charge in a commonly used file format. After you cancel, you can no longer use your site or dashboard.
After the 14 days. Your other legal rights continue. See "Our responsibility to you" below.
Changes to your invitation
The price includes two rounds of changes, and that promise is part of your contract. A round is you seeing your preview, telling us what to change, and us making those changes. An extra round is an add-on at €100. Fixing a mistake on our side does not use up a round.
Your content
You give us answers, photos, voice notes and other material to make your invitation. You keep your rights in it. We use it to make, host and look after your invitation, and we ask you first if we would like to show your work anywhere else, such as in an example on this website.
When you upload something, you confirm that:
- you own it or have permission to use it, for example from the photographer;
- every adult shown or heard has agreed;
- if a child is shown, the child is yours or a parent or guardian has agreed.
Please check the names, dates, venue and times in your preview, because your guests will rely on them. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information, including your guests' replies.
AI-assisted film and images
The film, and some images on your site, are made with AI tools, guided by your answers. A person checks every film frame by frame before you see it, and we label it AI-assisted so nobody is in any doubt. The film is silent. AI tools can produce unexpected details, which is why you review a preview and can ask for changes using the rounds included.
Hosting
Your site is online for 12 months from the day it goes live. We take reasonable care to keep it available. If you want it online for longer, you can buy extended hosting: €150 for each further 12 months. We never charge you for hosting beyond the included year unless you have agreed to it. Before ordering opens we will state here what happens to your site, your dashboard and your guests' replies when the hosting period ends.
Our responsibility to you
We must supply your invitation with reasonable care and skill, and it must match what we say about it on this website, on the pricing page and on the order page. If it does not, you have the remedies the Consumer Rights Act 2022 gives you: you can ask us to put it right, and you may be entitled to a reduction in the price or to end the contract. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, or any other right you have as a consumer that the law does not allow us to limit.
If we cannot supply something you have paid for, we refund what you paid for it.
Complaints
If something goes wrong, please tell us first. Email hello@tyingtheknot.ie, use our contact page or, once you have an order with us, reply to your order email. Say what the problem is and what you would like us to do. We acknowledge your complaint, look into it and reply in writing. If it is about personal information, the privacy notice explains how to complain to the Data Protection Commission.
Which law applies?
Irish law applies to these terms and to your contract with us. If we change these terms, the version in force on the day you order still applies to your order. These terms were last updated on 12 October 2026.
